Hello and welcome
I am delighted to welcome you to my blog which will be updated on a regular basis. I would like this to be a two way process so I would welcome any comments/feedback on my blogs – you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will use this blog to keep staff up-to-date with news and details of what I have been doing across Care Plus Group and I hope you will find this a useful and informative resource.

I thought it would be useful to cover the items I discussed at this week’s CPG Connected Event for those of you who were unable to make it. It was a really good event and I was impressed with how many people attended – it was great to see so many familiar faces and some new ones too. You can look at the presentations from the event on the Document Store.
I attended a wonderful event this afternoon (10th May) to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Health and Wellbeing Collaboratives. For those of you that aren’t aware of the background, the collaboratives were ‘born’ 10 years ago in early 2007.
I have included in my blog this time a summary of the things I talked about in my Chief Executive’s update at this week’s CPG Connected Event. I’m conscious that not all of you are able to attend these events and it’s important you are still updated on what’s going on. If you have any questions after reading through this please either speak to your line manager or email me directly at email@example.com
Happy New Year to you and all your families and many thanks to those of you who were working over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. I hope you still managed to have a break at some point.
As we near the end of 2016, rather than winding down many of you have been busy with preparations for our CQC inspection as well as also continuing the day to day delivery of services. I know I have e mailed already about this separately but I wanted to thank those of you again who have been involved in making the inspection team welcome and showing them the work we are doing at what is a very busy time of year.
We have been working with a range of partners including NLaG, NAViGO and GPs locally as part of the emerging “Accountable Care Partnership” (ACP) to ensure that services are delivered more effectively and efficiently. Our ACP has been formed as part of the overarching NHS 5 year plan and brings together a number of providers to take responsibility for the cost and quality of care for our local population within an agreed budget. As part of this work GPs are coming together as collective groups to work across bigger areas and in different ways and this will inevitably affect the way our community teams work.
Hi All, I would genuinely like to thank everyone for helping us increase our rates of flu vaccination significantly from last year’s results with rates now up to 50% (at the time of writing). I know this is a contentious issue for lots of people; I personally have had the jab and have done for the last few years.
It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog, not because there’s been nothing to tell you – quite the opposite!
There’s also lots going on in the background and I thought it would be useful to update you on what’s going on with a couple of Care Plus Group’s newest services:
Well, the schools are back and holidays are over although it's been a very busy last few weeks for all of us! I'm aware that our staff are working harder than ever with the referrals that have been coming our way and the numbers of older people with very complex conditions who now live in the community whereas they would have once been cared for in hospital. We took over the running of a second GP surgery in the form of Quayside on 22nd August. This is a great development for us although as usual there's a lot of hard work involved at the start in get something up to our standard and settling things down compared to how it had been operated before.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions for renaming the Staff Engagement event – some really good suggestions and as suspected many of you agreed we could do better in terms of what we called it. The new name is...
One of the key things I’ve been doing since I started as Chief Executive is doing a weekly visit out to one of our teams. This is very useful to me in hearing what staff have to say across CPG. I’m hoping that this blog will provide a further opportunity for you to let me know what you think about the things that are important to you.
